Coordination Cycle Rome City Administration once again calls for greater commitment to support the 'cycling to promote a sustainable urban mobility. Remember that it is necessary to promote this goal for many actions at once (from infrastructure, intermodal, areas 30, to bike sharing, etc.).. It recalls in this context the importance of the Framework Plan of cycling, which should ensure the implementation coordinated and consistent with these actions. Remember that the CIP was adopted by the City Council just a year ago (del. 87, March 24, 2010) , and the need to make now operating this vital instrument.

The path to the formulation of the outline plan has been long and difficult, but the result was very important, because it is the result of a participated and shared with the associations .

For the first time Rome:

. has an overall design and staffing of the network of trails that will be made (protected in various forms, reports) and other actions necessary to ensure safety for those who choose to move by bike;

. share this design with a large number of organizations representing citizens and future users of the network and actively promote the use of bicycles in the city.

Now it's just that the City Council to design and work to achieve it. We ask, as a first concrete step of

To fulfill these tasks is important

· develop the activities of citizen participation and associations, from the information, to monitoring and verification of results, including the setting up of a permanent technical associations.

Dear Councillor,

Coordination Cycle Rome wants to draw your attention to the serious state of policies to promote cycling. Plan framework of cycling is still, after a long training process and an important aid associations, and the maintenance of the current cycle network in every look unsustainable (see the report of the Agency of services), implementing the commitments almost zero, the time required by other provisions (30 areas, the traffic calming and parking control wild in backyards to parking, transport aboard public transport ...) although they are still too often at no cost. Across Europe the policies for cycling, already far ahead, are revived and strengthened, we are still in Rome.

We continue however to think that the development of cycling can make a vital contribution to the quality of the entire system of urban mobility. For this reason we ask for an urgent meeting to tackle the state policy for cycling and iteration of cycling under the approval of the Plan which was adopted in Committee for almost a year.

Colaceci Dear Councillor,

our coordination, as you know, represents a large number of associations with many members interested in using the bicycle as a sustainable means of transport and as a tool for sports and tourism and to socialize. We have met, even with the Assessor Prestipino, last year to examine together the projects that can be carried out in collaboration with the Province. In this particular phase of our overall goal is to integrate the corridors of mobility, of which you are responsible, with protected bicycle paths, allowing you to connect with Roma in many places and security areas of great environmental and cultural interest of the province, and support in this way forms of sustainable tourism.

Within this goal are crucial link between Rome and the coast in safety and practicability of the coast itself. The commitments made by the provincial administration in line with these expectations. We have developed our own proposal, which I think could be feasible in a relatively short time and the resources contained. We intend to submit it to you and alderman Prestipino, with whom we have had in his time a very good comparison.

Our proposal also involves the passage of Laurentina.Su this posting a year ago we had a first meeting with the Department of Traffic Vincenzi, to discuss and make proposals on the new Via Laurentina cycling. After several fruitless attempts to meet with the technical staff responsible, and after repeated assurances from the councilor and his secretary promptly disregarded, our willingness to cooperate has been completely rejected. And 'our duty to denounce as politically unsustainable behavior Councillor Vincenzi, from which we feel offended as representatives of major associations and citizens.

Our confidence in the ability to listen to the province still remains, we consider it a valid interlocutor. I would therefore ask the Roma-Resort for an urgent meeting with the President Zingaretti Prestipino and alderman, in order to give effect to a proposal that is perceived as very important by all users of the bicycle as a tool for sustainable mobility.

have not received any response to the three notes we sent July 9, October 5 and December 15 last year. But still we try, honestly we can not explain this silence, after having supported and appreciated some of the initiatives of the municipality that you represent to promote cycling. Coordination Cycle Rome is an important reality of associations that promotes cycling in Rome on this issue could provide a very useful contribution to the local institutions. Rome Coordination Cycle takes the occasion of establishment of the new municipal council, to draw your attention to the serious state of policies to promote cycling. The Framework Plan of cycling is still, after a long training process and an important aid associations, and the maintenance of the current cycle network in all respects untenable (see the report of the Agency of services), implementing the commitments almost zero, the time required by other provisions (30 areas, the traffic calming and parking control wild, parking in the yards, the carriage on public transport ...) although they are still too often at no cost. Across Europe the policies for cycling, already far ahead, are revived and strengthened, we are still in Rome, and firmer and firmer.

We continue however to think that the development of cycling can make a vital contribution to the quality of the entire system of urban mobility. We also believe that an effective response to urgent and emergency traffic, therefore, should be treated as a political emergency.

We therefore feel that the responsibility of this policy should be made directly to you, when Deputy Commissioner in emergency traffic. would be the best way to overcome the divisions and restore a memorandum of understanding by all assessors who must collaborate with different responsibilities (first mobility, environment, public works, planning, and budget) to enhance operational coordination between all sectors of government (including Province and the Region) to be operationally and financially contribute to the implementation of cycling policies. Alternatively, we ask that the delegation policies for the development of cycling is attributed to the Councillor mobility. In any case, ask for an urgent meeting with key advisors competent (mobility, environment, public works and urban planning) to see and share the commitments that the Administration should take part in approving the plan.

We also think that it is necessary to radically improve the operational structures dedicated to acquire resources, design and implement, fully utilizing all the technological companies of the Administration of Roma Capitale.
